Code of Conduct

At QoMEX, we encourage an open exchange of ideas, freedom of expression, and respectful scientific debates. To facilitate these, we value an environment where people of different backgrounds and cultural and social experiences feel expected, reflected, and respected. QoMEX is dedicated to providing a safe and harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, race, age, culture, language, religion, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, among others. As such, conference participants, including organizers, speakers, attendees, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, reviewers and anyone else, are expected to behave professionally, do not engage in any form of discrimination or harassment, and stand up in case of witnessing such a behavior. Discrimination refers to unfair disadvantages, unequal treatment, or degradation of individuals or groups based on their social identity (e.g., gender, race, class, age, etc.). Harassment, as the expression of discrimination that creates a hostile or threatening environment, includes the use of abusive, offensive, or degrading language, intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, sexual imagery, and unwelcome sexual advances or requests for sexual favors. Harassment is defined by the target of such behavior and not by the perpetrator or bystanders.

If an on-site or online participant violates these rules, the QoMEX organizing committee may take any action they deem appropriate, ranging from issuance of a warning to the offending individual to expulsion from the conference with no refund, depending on the circumstances. The organizing committee reserves the right to exclude any participant found to be engaging in harassing behavior from participating in any further QoMEX events.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns relating to harassment, please contact the general co-chair Katrien De Moor (katrien.demoor@ntnu.no) or approach Katrien directly at the conference.
